Anyone who has been to a book-to-movie adaptation with me is probably nervous about this post, but after how amazing the movie version of Project Hail Mary was, I can’t wait for these other upcoming adaptations.

I’m a huge hockey fan and these were some of the first hockey romances I read back in 2024. I’m in the process of rereading them before the show comes out next week, and I’m really excited. They were very cozy and comforting reads for me, and although not all the casting is exactly as I’d pictured everyone, I think it’s going to be a great adaptation. I’m also just excited for another hockey show; we need more than just Shoresy and Heated Rivalry!

I’ll eventually read all of Elin Hilderbrand’s books; they’re always great for a beach fix now that I live in a landlocked state and rarely get to the beach anymore! This was a nice cozy read back in 2023. It made me think a lot about who I would choose for a similar weekend, and how grateful I am that I’m still friends with people from multiple life phases. I’ll have to revisit it this year before the show starts!

I’ve since soured on Colleen Hoover for a bunch of reasons, but I read Verity back in 2018 and again in 2020, and loved it both times. The suspense reminded me of one of my favorite books, Dark Places by Gillian Flynn, and that held up in the trailer. I think it’s going to be a great movie!

Yesteryear was quite the trip! I was quickly sucked in from the editor’s note comparing Natalie to Amy from Gone Girl (which I definitely agree with), and although it was a long book at 400 pages, I just couldn’t put it down. I thought it was a really well-done satire of both the tradwife influencer culture and conservative Christians. I think Anne Hathaway will be a great Natalie.
Your turn: Let me know which adaptations you’re excited for!
